Oro Navigacija, Lithuania

Advancing digital innovation and drone adoption

Oro Navigacija, Lithuania’s air navigation service provider (ANSP), is leading the way in innovation and digitalisation for airspace management. Through its partnership with Frequentis, Oro Navigacija is transforming UTM operations and redefining information management.

This collaboration showcases a forward-thinking approach to airspace management by integrating technologies for Accelerated Drone Management and Actionable Information Management. Together, Oro Navigacija and Frequentis are driving digitalisation and setting new standards in aviation for Lithuania and the broader Baltic region. Their joint efforts are creating a safer, more efficient, and fully connected airspace, paving the way for future advancements in air traffic management.

Accelerated Drone Management

To meet the rapid growth of drone technology, Oro Navigacija and Frequentis have deployed an advanced UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) system based on the Accelerated Drone Management concept. This state-of-the-art solution acts as a one-stop platform for diverse stakeholders, including emergency services, police, military, and border control authorities.

The system simplifies critical processes such as flight planning, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. By integrating tools such as SORA for operational risk analysis, it drastically reduces approval times—from months to weeks—facilitating faster adoption of drone technology.

Key features of the UTM-Suite include seamless collaboration between stakeholders and the integration of partner technologies, offering enhanced services such as drone dispatching solutions. This unified approach positions Oro Navigacija as a leader in UTM innovation within the Baltics and across Europe.

Actionable Information Management

Oro Navigacija is at the forefront of digital transformation in Lithuanian air traffic management with the implementation of Frequentis’ CADAS-Suite. This SWIM-ready solution enables seamless data management and ensures compliance with AIXM 5.1 standards for digital NOTAMs, AIPs, and aeronautical charts.

By automating data exchange and eliminating manual workloads, the CADAS Suite establishes a baseline for data that can be leveraged in other aeronautical applications, enabling direct actions based on the information. This helps ensure CP1 compliance while creating a fully connected ecosystem for aeronautical information management. This innovation enhances efficiency and ensures the timely distribution of critical information to all stakeholders.
